This infographic shows the actual amount spent by each middle school in the 2018-2019 school year — the most recent report, found in the 2020-2021 Preliminary School Budget. As you can see, ALMS spent significantly more.

 

This has been an ongoing trend for years.

 

While the new budget proposes an increase for IEYMS regarding textbook costs, we will not see documented expenses for the next 2 years. This means that the Board of Education can say we will spend more, but there is no requirement that they have to. This is where the NREC2A would like the public to hold the budget to a new standard.

 

We must see this followed through.
